Post Welcome to the V&V™ 3.0 / Mighty Protectors™ discussion forum!

Hey, everybody.

Now that we've started revealing info about the upcoming 3rd edition, I figure it's about time to make it official and create a V&V™ 3.0 / Mighty Protectors™ discussion forum.

I'm going to be creating separate topics for different aspects of the 3.0 rules - Character Generation, Powers, Combat, and so on. I'll create each new topic when I feel ready to open the floodgate of questions about it. This will all come online over the next few days.

Also, starting now, all V&V events I run at conventions will be sneak previews of 3.0 / Mighty Protectors™. So if you want to test drive the 3.0 rules early, you may want to keep an eye on the Conventions tab for upcoming convention appearances 🙂

Any chance the Monkey House crew will be attending DragonCon?

"Some people think realism is the ideal and don't like anything too unreal in their stories about superpowered people punching each other in the face as they fall off buildings. Some people don't like anything remotely absurd in stories about people from other planets who pass flawlessly for human.

The rest of us can only be sad for them." - Kurt Busiek

We have additional convention appearances to announce soon, but so far Dragon Con isn't one of them. Watch the Conventions tab for updates.

I've just rolled mind control! So lucky!

Does this mean there will be no more official support for 2.1?

Jeff explained a lot about 3.0 to many of us who attended Gary Con, and one of the really cool things about it is that it should be pretty easy to convert 2.1 characters to 3.0. They have a stated design goal of making things fairly compatible, so it's not like 2.1 materials won't interface with 3.0 ones.

Of course once new adventures and characters start coming out, I would imagine they won't be printing dual stats (like you saw in Death Duel with the Destroyers, which had both 1.0 and 2.0 stats included). But if things are fairly easy to convert that would hardly be necessary.
