Post Special Missile Weapon costs

Am I missing something (entirely possible), or are some of the CP costs for the standard missile weapons (under Special Missile Weapon) kinda borked? Bow and Heavy Bow seem overpriced by 15 CP each, while Rifle seems underpriced by 2.5 CP, for example.

Hm, I am over by 2.5 when I calculate the bow and heavy bow. Not sure where the calculation's off. Rifle seems OK.

Bow = Muscle-Powered sharp +d3 (0)+Two-Handed (-2.5)+Range AGx2 (5 steps from Melee=+12.5)+Accuracy +1 (+2.5) = 12.5

Heavy Bow = Muscle-Powered sharp +d6 (5)+Two-Handed (-2.5)+Range AGx2 (5 steps from Melee=+12.5)+Accuracy +1 (+2.5) = 17.5

Rifle = Ranged d6+d8 (10)+Two-Handed (-2.5)+Accuracy +1 (+2.5) = 10

Bow and Heavy Bow are expensive because they are built as sharp kinetic melee weapons with range. So the wielder gets to use his HTH damage plus the bow/heavy bow damage. You'll notice that the damage for these ranged melee weapons is shown with a "+" in front of it, like +d6 sharp for Heavy Bow and +d3 sharp for Bow.

Rifle is just a vanilla missile weapon which at a d6+d8 sharp kinetic damage costs 10 CPs.

Jeff might have started from 1" range for these... I don't know why the numbers are off. If he doesn't respond to this post by Friday I'll see him and ask him about it.

I think I figured out the discrepancy but in doing so I think I found a mistake. Special Melee Weapons have a PR=0 which in effect is unlimited charges. If you give them charges, which Bow and Heavy Bow both have, it lowers the cost. But going from Unlimited Charges to 12 Charges should be (-5) CPs, which means the costs should be lower than what is actually shown in the current rules.

Bow = Muscle-Powered HTH +d3 sharp (0), Two-Handed (-2.5), Range AGx2 (+12.5), +1 to hit (+2.5), 12 Charges (-5) = 8 CPs

Heavy Bow = Muscle-Powered HTH + d6 sharp (5), Two-Handed (-2.5), Range AGx2 (+12.5), +1 to hit (+2.5), 12 Charges (-5) = 13 CPs

For what it's worth I went over the muscle-powered ranged special weapons. The cost for Shuriken came out much lower than what is shown in the current rules, but the damage is slightly different as I don't know how Jeff came up with +1 sharp since it is not listed on the charts. The bows all came out a little cheaper. Boomerang came out the same but I simply guessed about the "range x2 w/out return" modifier.

Boomerang = Muscle-Powered HTH +d4 blunt (7.5), Range STx1 (+10), Range x2 w/o return (+2.5), 3 Charges (-15) = 5 CPs

Bow = Muscle-Powered HTH +d3 sharp (0), Two-Handed (-2.5), Range AGx2 (+12.5), +1 to hit (+2.5), 12 Charges (-5) = 8 CPs

Heavy Bow = Muscle-Powered HTH +d6 sharp (5), Two-Handed (-2.5), Range AGx2 (+12.5), +1 to hit (+2.5), 12 Charges (-5) = 13 CPs

Short Bow = Muscle-Powered HTH +d2-1 sharp (-5), Two-Handed (-2.5), Range AGx2 (+12.5), +1 to hit (+2.5), 12 Charges (-5) = 3 CPs

Shuriken = Muscle-Powered HTH +d2-1 sharp (-5), Range ST/2 (+7.5), +3 to hit (+7.5), 12 Charges (-5) = 5 CPs

Yep, it looks like some errors crept into the standard weapon tables. We'll re-figure everything, and post a correction to the Errata page. Thanks guys!
