Post MPM News: Superhero License Freeze Blocked
on: February 14, 2017, 14:53

Feb. 14, 2017: A federal judge has blocked the implementation of an executive order from the White House, which would have frozen all new superhero license applications (under the 1954 Superheroism Accommodation Act) pending a review of the terms of that Act. The judge ruled that the administration’s stated goal of denying superhero licenses to applicants from certain nations, religions, and dimensions violated the Act’s fundamental purpose. The need for superhero anonymity was passionately argued by Psimon, one of America’s first superheroes, during his famous speech before Congress, which historians cite as the primary catalyst behind the passage of the Act.

In other news: Victor 'The Vulture' Truttle has withdrawn from his nomination to head the Department of Superhero Affairs, fueling speculation as to the White House’s next nominee.

Also: Leaks from White House staff hint that the effort to replace the heads of C.H.E.S.S. has hit a bureaucratic snag, with the related regulations ‘multiplying inexplicably’ even as WH lawyers attempt to decipher them.
