So I'm writing up some dinosaurs and I got thinking about their sizes. So when you have a triceratops that is 9' tall and 30' long, I decided to give it (30) CPs of Size Change: A) Larger. By the book that would mean a creature 30' tall but I used that measurement on its length instead.
What do you do with a creature (in this case a deinonychus) that is only 3' tall but 10' long? Give then (10) CPs of Size Change: Larger but assign the height in the book to the creature's length instead? Like I did in the triceratops example.
I'm interested how others would tackle the height vs. length situation rules-wise.
Cheers,
Tim
I would totally do what you've done, Tim. Use the longer dimension (in this case the length) to compare to the heights listed in the chart.
V&V GM and player since 1982, my current campaign is 29 years old
I also have used the height of Size Change Larger as length for certain animals and creatures.
I've made several creatures and I try to choose a size where the scale and weight match (in relation to a human), not just the height or length.
oops, I meant "profile"
Thanks for the input, everyone.
Cheers,
Tim
