The only instance of the word 'Dodge' in the rules is under the Modifier Total Concentration.  It's even capitalized, as if this were a game term.

Is this a leftover from an earlier version of the game, where it was possible for characters to dodge?

There is no 'dodge' maneuver in MP. Dodging simply means "getting the benefit of one's physical or mental Defense", which happens automatically whenever one is conscious and mobile. This can be improved with the Full Defense and Defensive Fighting maneuvers.

Sorry for the confusion.

Gotcha. So if someone takes the Total Concentration Modifier, would that then mean that they get a 0 for Physical or Mental Defense, regardless of what it shows on their character sheet? (while they're utilizing the Ability with that Modifier, of course)
