Nothing in the RAW suggests you are limited to one ability field.

So as long as the damage cap is adhered to can a character have multiple ability fields stacked?

Each does contact damage in HTH, and also adds <dice-roll> protection. I would assume that the contact damages would be applied individually against opponents protections and they could roll with each portion of damage, likewise incoming attacks would be protected against by each ability field on their own.

Does that seem logical?

Although as each field is processed on it's own then each field would have it's own damage cap, as in you don't add them together?

So leads into contact and carrier attacks, presume they likewise do not stack damage with regards to adhering to the damage cap and each has it's own limit.
