I just realized I never posted the mega two-parter my son ran awhile back.  He had both groups (Vindicators and World Watch, with five PCs each) meet up for a ten-player game (11 people around the table!)  So this is issue #3 of World Watch:

#3 – The Wrath of Apocalypse – With the Vindicators aboard the Cosmic Train on their way to Alpha, the apparitions aboard suddenly freeze, and Doctor Apocalypse causes the train to crash!  The teammates exit the wreckage in San Francisco and find themselves facing off with three Horsemen Robots, Destroyers Behemoth, Ratman, and Annihilator, Doctor Apocalypse, and his protégé, Sapphira.  The mad genius expresses frustration at their meddling, insisting that he will kill them for causing the abduction of his agents.  World Watch arrives, but realizes they are outmatched and only observes.  A Phantom (from Delta) appears and pulls Apocalypse away.  The others see fear in the Doctor’s face and make out the words “chosen one”.  The Phantom vanishes, and the villain changes his plans: he demands that the group come to his island within 12 hours or he will unleash nuclear devastation upon major American cities!  Sapphira spots Eclipse and asks her ‘Uncle A’ if they can come as well; Doctor Apocalypse then demands that World Watch also join the Vindicators and threatens Raphael before he and his forces fly away.  Rattled and uneasy, the two teams share information.  Nightstalker and Mighty Crusher leave and meet up with CoMet, who pleads with them to ally with Motivator.  He gives them communication devices and vaguely threatens that a captured Mantis-Man’s fate and treatment depends on their answer.  The pair returns, but convinces the others not to trust Motivator, and they smash the communicators.  Witness contracts mercenaries, and the adventurers travel via boats to the Nacht Island group north of Bermuda and make their way into a cave on the main island.  They black out upon entering a facility and wake to find themselves in individual tanks.  Believing that they are in virtual reality scenarios, the heroes are tested alone, as the Doctor explores what extremes they will go to.  After making extremely difficult choices, the vigilantes sense that their actions have actually happened somewhere!  Apocalypse then gives them a challenging riddle, with incorrect answers producing deadly explosions.  Spatial Shock, Titan’s Fist, Eclipse and Escanor are all slain by the blasts due to incorrect guesses.  Weary and hurt, those remaining, including Aftermath and Dr. Richtofen, beg the titan to undo the death of their allies.  Doctor Apocalypse insists that he will only do so if they swear to slay his mortal enemy, Motivator.  They all agree, and after he resurrects those killed (Sapphira raises Eclipse) he allows World Watch to depart.

Issue #4 of the Vindicators:

#4 – The Signal – On Nacht Island, Doctor Apocalypse, having resurrected most of the Vindicators, puts them in their place when some begin to question him.  He tells them about the Garden of Eve on Delta, and gives them two tasks: bring him the hero Mantis-Man, and hunt down and destroy one of Lance Dragon’s renegade experiments.  The gigantic horseman robot Famine flies alongside a battered aircraft that takes them to San Francisco International Airport, then ferries them to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital.  Famine stays outside while Titan’s Fist, Dr. Richtofen and Spatial Shock make their way to the roof.  New superhero Smoke (cousin to Spatial Shock from Delta), Escanor, and Aftermath visit the 28th floor and persuade the C.H.E.S.S. agents guarding Mantis-Man to allow them to visit him one by one.  Small earthquakes shake the area, and Famine warns them that the seismic activity is very close by! Smoke blankets Mantis-Man’s room in darkness, and the team debates also abducting the doctor present.  Dr. Richtofen creates a portal from the roof to the room, and the group extracts the Delta champion.  Famine guards the asset and flies them several miles southwest to investigate the tremors.  They come across the huge supervillain Armordillo as he knocks over a second armored truck.  The Vindicators attempt to stop the Australian bio-experiment, but seem unable to overcome the villain’s impenetrable shell.  C.H.E.S.S. Valkyries and Knights, along with Cosmic Kid, also try to stop the rogue experiment.  Suddenly three alien beings appear on a nearby rooftop, and things become chaotic; heroes attack each other and Dr. Richtofen’s minions begin healing the Armordillo!  Cosmic Kid calls for backup, and later orders the C.H.E.S.S. forces to evacuate, and a fourth alien, the Oracle, is freed from one of the armored trucks.  The other aliens attach strange technology to the Oracle and a massive beam of light is sent into the sky.  The beings calmly inform the vigilantes that it is too late, the invasion has already begun.  The three aliens then teleport away, leaving the Oracle behind.  Titan’s Fist grabs Armordillo, leaps thousands of feet into the air, and drives him into a crater after Spatial Shock electrocutes him.  Spatial Shock then kills the unconscious criminal.  They learn that during the battle some were mentally controlled by the aliens.  The Vindicators fly back to Nacht Island and hand over Mantis-Man, along with video evidence of the kill.  Doctor Apocalypse is pleasantly surprised, and offers them the opportunity to work for him.  All decline except Aftermath.  As they depart, Lance Dragon calls Spatial Shock and invites him to be part of the Garden of Eve launch; he plans to turn Alcatraz Island on Delta into a haven for capes with the ability to traverse dimensions.  The team, all wishing to return home, happily agrees.
