I haven't had a chance to do much work on Gauntlet at the con but my wife actually met Sandra Garrity yesterday in the exhibit hall!!! I am so jealous of her for that lol! I will be taking Hornet to my freehand class so I can ask for instruction on getting his bug wings painted up.

OK, back from the con and I got to meet Sandra Garrity in person! Wow she is short lol! Anyway she is a very charming woman and loves to talk with fans that's for sure, I didn't get a lick of work done on my V&V mini's but I took several classes and also competed in Reaper's speed painting contest. Not sure if the sun was in the judge's eyes for the finals or what but somehow I won first place! I was just in it for the free minis lol!

I'm quite sure you're just being humble, Duroon! If the work we've seen before is any indication (and based on what I've seen of your passion for this), I'd say that you're an excellent miniature painter! :)

Thanks Majestic, I took third in my qualifying round though and the finals was comprised of the top three finishers from 6 different qualifying rounds. That's a whole mess of people that did better than me on the days leading up to Sunday, some of these folks even did some freehand work on the mini's which I have never been able to do myself (though I am working on that). I am tired and sore, the whole five days was a blast. Meeting Sandra Garrity in person was a highlight for me, I am sure I was grinning ear to ear while talking with her about her history in the miniature making industry (I even managed to put in a plug for V&V :D ). Anyway, pictures to come in the near future of Gauntlet and Mouser!

Alrighty, long time coming but I finally have a little something to show! Here is Gauntlet!

I still need to do a little touching up but that's pretty close to finished product. Also I need some better pics of this guy!

I plan on doing Mouser next, he will make a good subject for an article on base coating, dry brushing, and washing with all of that fur!
