Thanks so much for sharing all of these. I can pretty much guarantee they'll get used (in some fashion) in our Guardians campaign as well.

Doug you sure these guys won't have to get scaled up for your game? ;)

I'm going to start uploading these guys to the Yahoo V&V group as I finish them.

I've really only looked at the two you uploaded to the group (Air-Cobra and Ballistic), but they seem even a bit tough for our standards! :)

V&V GM and player since 1982 (my current campaign is 22 years old); also run West End Games d6 Star Wars monthly, as well as the occasional The One Ring and Marvel Heroic Roleplaying game

Quick question, and I'm surprised no one's asked. Mr. James, how much do you charge for commissions?

Okay. I finally managed to get onto an open machine... So, I'm back on the forum, for today.
Sorry, it took so long. But, the REAL world with all of it's work requirements, tends to keep me very busy.

Also, I'm very sorry I wasn't able to answer your questions before now. But, THNX Tom, for doing so for me. (Btw, Tom has it right... Disintegration blasts tend to 'eat up' Air-Cobra's charges very quickly. Think of it as the price he pays for having so many attack 'options' built into one weapon.)

I am very happy that everyone is enjoying the con stuff I (and Tom) posted. (Thanks especially for all the compliments on my artwork. THOSE are ALWAYS nice to hear.) It makes me feel good knowing that someone else is going to get to have some fun with them.
Do what you want to with them... please, just remember what I asked for you to do... and also that 'Sable-Spector' and 'Isungr' are do not belong to me. But, OTHERWISE... Have fun with them! (THAT is the most important part.)

@DSumner... I DLed the new files for Ballisitic and Air-Cobra form the V&V forum. They look very nice. (Really crisp and clear.) Great job!! I wish I knew excel as well as you apparently do. (I'm still doing this stuff the old fashioned way. *heh*) I think I'll be using these as my 'official' printout versions! Cant wait to see whats next!!

Regarding: UNIFORCE, MEGADEATH, and Majestic-7 membership, etc. Well, I'll be happy to tell you guys anything you want to know. But, I've been a little worried that I have 'hijacked' Tom's thread! That wasnt my intention. I just wanted to introduce myself and add on some stuff about the con game, for his review.
If everyone wants to hear more I'll be happy to type out what I can. My only question is... should I keep posting the stuff here? Or, start a new thread? (I dont want to tread on anyone's toes.)
Also, I'm not really sure what to write. ALL of my V&V stuff usually breaks down into one of three discussions... 1)What it is *IN* V&V. 2)How I came up with the idea. and 3)How has it/does it get used in play? ...So, which is closest to what you want to hear about?

Side note: If I can find it and get it scanned by Friday night... I think I'd like to post Walker's Majestic-7 pic. Its very outdated, and ('kind of') silly... but, it is a good nostalgia piece. And, might open up the discussion more. If I rememeber correctly, it should have everyone's names written on the back of it.) WARNING: Some of the original M-7 crew were... well... a bit 'silly'. (You'll see.) ...Oh! And, one of them flagrantly violated copyright infringement laws!! *shrug*

Lastly, Regarding: Art commisssions...
Well, I hadn't really considered coming into the gaming forums to sell my artwork. (Thats really not what I'm here for. I came here mostly for/to read 'V&V game-stuff', and to 'connect' with the V&V masses/masters.) Up unitl now, I would have considered it 'presumptuous' for me to even attempt to do so.

HOWEVER, you all DO seem to enjoy my work -AND- I *do* unforunately suffer from a decidedly 'chronic', lifelong condition that I have been trying desperately to cure for decades now. (Doctors call it: 'Abject Poverty'. ...Right before they ask for my creditcard number, and then 'contribute substantially' to my continued sufferance from it.) ...So, a little work on the side won't hurt either.

So, If you think I can do justice to your ideas, and that MY style fits what you want... WE'LL TALK.

Regarding artwork... there are TWO things you need to know about me...
1)I DO *NOT* WORK FOR FREE!! (*THAT* is my #1 Rule! I don't know WHY some people have a problem with THIS particular concept, but there are quite a few out there who seem to.)
-and-
2)Whereas, I *DO* believe my artwork should be priced to be 'affordable' to those that would enjoy it the most, IF I am not going to earn enough ($) to make 'doing the project' worthwhile, then I will NOT waste my time doing it. (This is not meant to sound 'crass' or 'cruel'. It is more just a matter of 'neccessity'... My real job, (I am a route-driver/merchandiser for Mercury Retail Services), is quite demanding. I work six days a week. For an 'average' of 12 hours a day. (So, I'm pretty tired most of the time.) My job is very difficult/physically demanding... but, I do it because it PAYS MY BILLS. (Just barely.)
SO, when I have to make any 'decision' regarding what gets my full 'attention',... well, you can see what wins out most of the time and why.

BOTTOM LINE... "You've GOT to pay me... 'something'!" How much? ...Depends on the project. Got no money? ...Then, got anything to trade? Etc. etc. etc. So, I'm 'negotiable', but just DON'T beat it to death.

I think it best, that if you honestly want me to offer my services... I should go home and write out a 'pricing sheet' and post it somewhere where everyone can see it. (A set 'price rate' sheet would make it 'fair' for everyone.) NOTE: I can't handle (Ie.- don't have alot of time to dedicate towards) a super-massive backlog of projects, but I do always strive to get my stuff completed. So, if you don't innundate me and can give me enough time to do it properly, I'm confident that I can handle anything you guys send my. (Heck. I'm even thinking that a 'V&V forum-member discount' seems to be in order, too.)

I dont really know all that much about this 'forum' stuff. I dont mind doing the artwork, tho. (....Within reason.)
And, I also don't want to be responsible for steering these forums aways from their intended topic, etc.)

So, PLEASE, let me know what you think.
(I'll go home tonight and wite up a pricing sheet, regardless.)

And, seeing as we are on the Topic... I just completed the 'VVCG Character-card' pic for Tom's character: 'Cougar'. It came out much better than I expected. So, I'm quite proud of it. ...You might wnat to pester him, to let you see it. {;-D

If you want to start a separate thread, I'll leave that up to you guys, but I'm cool with whatever you decide. I'll get around to posting the rest of the PDF character sheets over the weekend, and if you catch any mistakes, please let me know so I can correct them. I'm really interested in reading more info on Uniforce and the other members of Majestic 7. As far as your artwork goes, I expect artists to get paid for their work, and I'm also interested in seeing anything else you've come up with.

@ Mortisse - you should check out the thread on Commissions on the V&V Forum. Dom and Gerry post links to a number of artist who do this kind of work. It'll give you some general ballpark idea what the market ca lls for :)

I'm starting to work on Hammerhead. I'm hoping to knock him out, and get him loaded to Yahoo, before bed.

@DSumner...
Ok. I've looked over Hammerhead...
First off, I really must admit... you've done a really great job at 'cleaning up' all of my math errors, on all of the characters so far. (Thnx for that.)
There is only one mistake with Hammer, tho...
You have his 'Mutant Powers' listed as: 'Universally Double Jointed', with all of his subpowers then listed beneath it. That is incorrect... it should read: " Mutant Power: 'Mutant Bio-Enhancements' ". With 'Universally Double Jointed' listed as the first enhancement (#a) underneath it. This is actually not your fault. It is mine. As, I did not have the space to write it on his sheet, and left it off. (I hadnt really even thought about it, up until now.) My only excuse is that I WAS rushing to get everything ready for the con. *shrug*
Also, I dont see anyone's 'Security Clearance' listed on their profiles. (For most of my guys its no big deal. But, for a fulltime 'government lackey' like Ballistic, it is kind of 'central' to his concept.) Bearing that in mind, I MUST also mention that I have apparently also written Ballistic's security-clearance down wrong on my original con-sheet for him... It is most definitely *NOT* a '2'!!! (Oh, yeah! I can see a superhero who has political clout, just ONE RANK shy of 'presidential power'. Mmm-hmm.!) And, as I do not have his notes/sheet here with me, I'll wager a guess and say it is prolly 'more appropriately' an '8', or so. (Ergo: 10 - 2 etc.) Yeah. that sounds about right to me.
Sorry about that.
