It's fine, I need to re-read some of this anyway.

@ Mortisse - you should check out the thread on Commissions on the V&V Forum. Dom and Gerry post links to a number of artist who do this kind of work. It'll give you some general ballpark idea what the market ca lls for :)

Okay... I've spent several days now... searching this and the Yahoo V&V forum... and I cannot find an 'Artist Commissions' thread ANYWHERE! (I even checked the V&V Emporium!!) What am I doing wrong? Anyone got the address onhand?! :?

I've looked them both over... not much prsented on actual commission pricing. Thats fine. I'll just have to go with what works for me anyways.

Charge what you feel is fair. I've been paying $20-25 for an inked B&W single character sketch, on an 8 1/2" x 11" page, and $35-50 for full color sketches. If that gives you an idea.

Duely noted.
In the future, I'll be addressing this topic in the 'G Scott James Artwork' thread, that Tom started. It seems like the more appropriate place, and I'd prefer to use this thread to continue to display the 'con game' materials. If thats agreeable to everyone.

On that topic...

I have run accross a small problem...
My con writeups for the 'Tomorrow Warrriors', the 'Future Daimyo', and the 'Hammerlock Robotoid' were designed to be 'scaleable'. (Bear in mind, I had originally intended to run them against a group of... up to eight... high powered characters, for my con game.) And, when I realized that I would only have three players, I did a fair bit of 'last second' down-scaling on them. So they wouldn't be 'overwhelming'.

My question/problem is this... If you guys want to see these writeups... when I clean them up...
"AT WHAT SCALE WOULD YOU LIKE THEIR STATS TO BE PRESENTED?"

1)- "Scary to the Concrete Savages or Floopinski brothers"
2)- "Scary to an average first level hero"
3)- "Scary to either Shatterman -OR- Condor"
4)- "Scary to both Shatterman -*&*- Condor"
5)- "Scary to the Crusaders"
6)- "Scary to Power-Gamers"
and,... ('Majestic-level)...
7)- "OH MY GOD!! OH MY GOD!! OH MY GOD!! OH MY GOD!!.."

Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing them at the level you intended for up to 8 high powered characters (not sure what level that is, probably 6 or 7).

V&V GM and player since 1982 (my current campaign is 22 years old); also run West End Games d6 Star Wars monthly, as well as the occasional The One Ring and Marvel Heroic Roleplaying game

Conservatively speaking, I'd say: "6". (But, realistically, I lean more towards: "7".) *cough cough cough*

Alrighty then, "7" it is... ("Don't say I didnt warn you!")... and, we'll just leave it up to everyone's better judgement, to 'modify' them to fit into their own individual campaigns.

I'm bumping this up as I never did finish with the PDFs. Mako should be up next.

OK, I'm looking over Mako's stats and I see a few mistakes. His Carrying Cap. is off, it should be 8,570 lbs., which would make his HTH damage 2d10. His Hit Mods are off. It looks like you added the mods instead of multiplying them. His Detect Hidden and Detect Danger scores are off as well. I went ahead and made the corrections to the stats, and will post the PDF to the yahoo group in a few minutes.
